Germany's public broadcasting company, Südwestrundfunk, visits biosyn’s headquarters in Fellbach.

Baden-Württemberg is the German federal state best known as home to the mechanical engineering and automotive industry. What most people don't know is that, nationwide, the south western state, also dubbed Pharmaland, leads the country in the pharmaceutical and medical technology sectors as well. Now, the SWR broadcaster has taken a closer look at the state as a healthcare location.

To do so, it chose the stellar example of biosyn GmbH headquartered in Fellbach, near Stuttgart, to reveal the potential this branch of industry can unleash. Yet, this outstanding rank is not usually associated with the South West of the country. To remedy this misconception, the state government, run by a coalition of the Greens and CDU, has made it their mission to make the broader public aware of the infrastructures available in Baden-Württemberg. An additional goal is to turn the state – already a “Health Location” – into a prominent region driving a digital, networked and innovative future.
